How to schedule Facebook Page posts from Notion (a month in one sitting)

Facebook Pages are usually run by more than one person, and the plan already lives in Notion. Here is how to batch a month of Page posts in a Notion database and have them publish on schedule, links, first comments and all.

How to schedule Facebook Page posts from Notion (a month in one sitting)

Facebook Pages have a particular problem: they're almost never run by one person. A brand Page has a marketer, a founder who wants to check things, sometimes a client who signs off. That's why the plan for a Page tends to live in Notion already, in a shared workspace everyone can open. The gap is that Notion can't post to Facebook, so the plan gets copied into Meta Business Suite or a scheduler by hand, one post at a time.

This guide closes that gap: one Notion database, a month of Page posts written in a single sitting, and publishing that happens from the row. It assumes you have a Facebook Page (not a personal profile, more on that below) and a Notion workspace.

The one rule: Pages, not profiles

Meta's API only allows automated publishing to Facebook Pages. It doesn't allow it to personal profiles, and that's true for every scheduling tool, not a limitation of any one product. If you post as yourself, from a personal profile, nothing can schedule for you. If you run a Page for a business, a project or a community, everything below applies. Creating a Page takes a minute if you don't have one yet.

Set up the database

Start with one Notion database, one row per post. If you already have a content calendar, keep it; if not, the free Notion social media template is a working one you can duplicate. When you connect it to NotionScheduler, it adds the properties publishing needs (they're prefixed with a dot so they sort together and stay out of your way):

  • .Scheduled Post Date: the date and time the post goes live.
  • .Social media account: which connected Page this row publishes to. Manage several Pages? Connect each once and pick per row.
  • .Media & Files: the image or video, dropped straight into the row.
  • .Ready to post?: a checkbox. Nothing publishes until it's ticked, which is what makes drafting safe.
  • NotionScheduler Status: set for you. Scheduled while it waits, Posted once it's live, Error with a reason if something failed.

The post text is the page body of the row. Write the whole post there, formatting and all.

What a Facebook post can be

Facebook is the most forgiving platform on formats, which is why it's a good place to batch. A text post can be long (the practical limit is about 63,000 characters, so you'll never hit it). Images are JPG or PNG in any common aspect ratio. Videos can be long-form, and Reels are vertical 9:16. Paste a link and Facebook builds its standard preview card when the post goes out; you don't need to attach an image for a link post.

The one detail worth planning for: the first comment. If you want a link or extra context out of the main post, put it in the first-comment field on the row and it's added automatically once the post is live. Page posts read cleaner that way, and it's how most Pages handle links now.

Batch the month

Block two hours. Open a calendar view of the database and look at the empty days. Then, in this order:

  1. Create the rows first. One per post, dates set, Page selected, nothing written yet. Thirty empty rows on a calendar make the shape of the month visible, and gaps are easier to fill than a blank page.
  2. Write in passes. Do all the captions, then attach all the media, then add first comments. Switching modes per post is what makes it feel slow.
  3. Leave "Ready to post?" unticked until you've read each one back. The checkbox is the approval step. On a team, it's the step someone else does.
  4. Tick them. Each row's status flips to Scheduled. At its date and time it publishes to the Page, and the status flips to Posted.

If a post fails, the row says Error and why: an expired Page connection, an unsupported file. Fix it and re-tick. Nothing else in the month is affected.

Why this is better on a team than a scheduling app

Everyone who should see the plan already has Notion access. There's no second tool to invite people into, no per-seat pricing for a colleague who checks in once a month, and approval is a status change on a row rather than a screenshot in an email. The teams page goes into that side of it; the short version is that the calendar stays where the discussion already happens.

Facebook-specific things to know before you start

  • Multiple Pages work: connect each, then choose per row.
  • Link previews are automatic; you can't upload a custom preview image through the API, so if the preview matters, attach the image and put the link in the first comment instead.
  • Reels are vertical 9:16 video. Standard videos can be landscape and long.
  • Personal profiles cannot be scheduled by any tool. Pages only.

That's the whole build. One database, five properties added for you, a month of rows created before any of them are written, and a checkbox that turns a draft into a scheduled post. The month you batched in one sitting runs itself from there, and the Facebook scheduling page has the connection steps if you're ready to set it up.
